You can. Where blue starts you have a tile and where green ends as well. that makes three tiles on the "blue" tile.

My sketch shows the more complicated way you can go with my tiles. You can just add the orange one and then lead the cable trough the blue.
Sure, you need a bit of planning but at least it works with the actual code.

Yapp, this is the reason why I think we should improve the electronics... With that design you will have a LOTS of wire (tile number limitations and PSU problems), not to mention how hard to rearrange the tiles, if you want a new pattern. Also as you mentioned splitting will not work, and correctly program colorpatterns is a mess...
