I've been trying to get v3 installed on a fresh system and I can't seem to get the flash settings right (see screenshot below). I tried to flash on the closest setting (4M FS:1MB OTA ) and with version 4 of the tool it says it can't find python (which I have installed) and with version 2 and 3 of the tool it says esptool is not found. Why am I missing the flash setting?

Got the python part to go away by updating python and assuring its added to the path.
I am getting this error now though

Code: [Select]
Arduino: 1.8.10 (Windows 10), Board: "NodeMCU 1.0 (ESP-12E Module), 80 MHz, Flash, Legacy (new can return nullptr), All SSL ciphers (most compatible), 4MB (FS:1MB OTA:~1019KB), 2, v2 Lower Memory, Disabled, None, Only Sketch, 115200"

I'm wondering if part of your problem may be the fact that your 'Tools' menu looks different, probably because you have a different board selected or at least a different version. Mine has nothing to do with python and mine uploads fine, and my board settings are identical to the instruction image. Try to follow the instructions again and all the board settings identical to the image in your first post.

It is currently flashing! Seems to be working now. The issue was the board manager. 2.6.0 does not work. 2.4.2 (which is in the pictures) does seem to work!

Yep, I found the same thing. Is it working for you now? I'm stuck trying to get it connect to my own wifi...
