Hi
Since i had some issues with the original software, i tested some alternatives.

At first i used https://github.com/NimmLor/esp8266-fastled-iot-webserver, which i turn is a fork of https://github.com/jasoncoon/esp8266-fastled-webserver.
Both work well, but need some fiddling with their settings.

Curretly i'm using https://github.com/Aircoookie/WLED wich works perfectly out of the box and because the project has a very "product" like mindset, is a very low effort solution with a lot of effects and features.

Hi!! How do you configure the amount per corner in the WLED configuration?

You can configure WLED on the fly via the Webserver. The setting you are looking for is "grouping" under "segments".

Is it possible to switch what pin wled uses? On their github it says use D4 but I've already soldered the wire to D5 from my previous attempt, surely since they are both digital outputs there would be a way to change this?

Yes you can.
I did it myself, I changed the pins and added a second one because I usually do dual string setups and did not wanted to stress a single output so much.
I will upload my code so you can check it.

Here is the link of my setup.
