Whats the reason why you can't use the NodeMCU that has the rectangular chip?

I've got one lying around, and wondered if there was a technical reason before I order a replacement.

Cheers

Hi!
You might have already seen it, but have a look at that thread and scroll all the way down:

It's that the NodeMCU with the rectangular chip is larger and so does not fit into the power unit so well like the smaller one does.

I've had a "test fitting" of the larger one in the power block part. When adjusting the screw holes, it should fit as well.

I'll try this out as I already flashed the software onto the larger one for testing. I could not stop the small one rebooting every second  :-[

Nice work.. :-)  If you are happy to and once you have tested would you mind if I include this within the next release?  Just so the builder has a choice?  I will be adding a read me so will credit you?

Let me know,

Steve

Hey LordVader,

I've been looking at both NodeMCU's an I think we might be able to do them both in the same base.. just have double holes. I'll need to check but if we can I think that's the way we should go. The bigger one should just fit over the four smaller posts if you know what I mean.. so each cover will have two holes.

Let me know what you think?
